Elaine has now been teaching for more than twenty years. Yoga has been an invaluable tool for her- maintaining a sense of wellbeing, physically, mentally and emotionally. In 1994 she qualified as a teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga and has since gone on to do further training. Elaine's approach to asana has been influenced by working with well respected teachers , Peter Blackaby and John Stirk who draw on their knowledge from osteopathy, to encourage practice that focuses on the natural alignment of the body. Utilizing the role of the breath to create movement and release tension is also key in refining awareness and promoting a sense of well- being. Elaine teaches a wide variety of classes and also offers one to ones or very small groups - this can really give the opportunity to tailor the practice to individual needs. As a Diploma course tutor with the British Wheel of Yoga for more than ten years , Elaine enjoys nurturing students as well as promoting the skills and knowledge necessary to gain the teaching qualification.
Jonathan teaches mindfulness meditation and yoga classes at the Tree Room. Both classes are centred around exploring one's own wisdom through developing awareness and self-compassion. Mindfulness meditation is a wonderful way to practise present moment awareness; to gently focus and guide awareness back over and over, as it drifts in a busy mind to the past or to the future. In this way mindfulness promotes a sense of peacefulness and ease without the need to try to be peaceful. Jonathan's yoga classes are based on classical yoga with other influences including self-shiatsu, womb yoga and Buteyko breathing. Each individual is encouraged to listen to their own needs and practise with compassion; to find the point between effort and effortlessness; and to enjoy the progress which is available right now. Both classes are available for complete beginners and experienced yogis alike. Jonathan is passionate about sharing the message that yoga is for any body; and that with practise flexibility and strength naturally increases over time.

Yoga classes encouraged Arlene to listen to her body, which in turn rejuvenated her outlook and energy levels. The constant stimulus of modern life has an impact on the body, and Arlene sees yoga as a way to reconnect and release tension. Her classes explore breath awareness incorporated with slow, held postures to strengthen the body-mind connection. Classes are well-suited to those new to yoga or anyone looking to relax and unwind.
