Thai Yoga Massage Therapist
other types of massage, Thai Massage encourages relaxation and relieves
muscular tension, while promoting mental and physical benefits. One
main difference with Thai Massage is that it is fully clothed, with the
recipient lying comfortably upon a soft mat on the floor.
Thai Massage is quite unique and powerful, combining acupressure,
energy balancing, and stretching with the receiver being moved into yoga
postures. While traditional massage might focus on one area of tension
such as the back, neck and shoulders, a typical Thai massage addresses
the entire body and uses familiar yoga postures. The benefit of this is
that tension may lie in areas we’re not aware of.
the entire body is massaged, clients have commented feeling “looser” or
"taller" after a Thai Massage. Because our muscles are interconnected,
it makes sense to massage the whole body to encourage relaxation. The
nature of Thai Massage relaxes the entire nervous system and promotes
increased energy levels and flow. While the effects of Thai massage are
powerful, the experience itself is meditative. Massage techniques are
tailored to each unique body, so tension may yield and unfold.
While unique, Thai Massage has been compared to Shiatsu massage (also floor based) and Sports massage (also uses stretching).
